If you are a smartphone user, you would know that Apple and Samsung have a cutthroat competition. It’s needless to say that people with Samsung and iPhones are constantly fighting; one raves about the Android while iPhone users love the iOS. That is surely one of the prime reasons that Samsung and Apple always have a competition going on with Samsung even if they are completely different technologies, but still, the niche is the same (smartphones).

With this being said, over the course of the last four years, Samsung was beating Apple in the race of top smartphone players in the market. However, it seems like Apple is back with the bang and is ready to beat Samsung, and guess what? They have done it for the first time. That’s to say because Apple has now beaten Samsung after four years and is emerging as the top smartphone vendor and manufacturer. The information was first outlined by Gartner.

According to Gartner’s report, Apple sold more smartphones as compared to Samsung in the last quarter of the year 2020. To illustrate, Apple is selling more iPhones which are resulting in higher profits generation, and it has become bad news for Samsung, which is a South-Korean company. In the last three months of 2020, Samsung sold 62.1 million smartphones while Apple launched around 79.9 million iPhones.

In the fourth quarter, Apple had a 20.8% market share while Samsung had a 16.2% market share. Samsung was named the top-most smartphone manufacturer and brand of 2020, while the sales fell by 14.6%. On the other hand, Apple witnessed an annual growth of 14.9%. It’s pretty clear that Apple had great competition in this saturated smartphone market, and they have also beaten the competition. According to the information passed by market researchers, the sales growth reduced to 5.4% in the last quarter.

The prime reason that Apple succeeded is the dominated growth in the last quarter of 2020. This is because Apple launched the iPhone series 12. That being said, users have started choosing iPhones over Android smartphones. These Android smartphone brands include OnePlus and Samsung. When Apple decided to launch the 5G-enabled iPhone, it really became the pivotal point for Apple as well as the smartphone market.

There is a well-proven fact that iPhone 12 lineup has been received pretty well, and it outlines that Apple has the capacity to motivate their consumers to spend more than $1000 on a new smartphone since users need to invest in the accessories as well. It’s safe to say that the iPhone lineup has improved over the course of time. This is because Apple launched four models with iPhone 12 lineup, and it also included the iPhone SE as the budget phone.

As far as the details are concerned, Apple has integrated the 5G wireless technology in all iPhone 12 models, and users can even capture the 4K HDR videos. This lineup was originally released in October, but Apple outlined the probability of 5G phones as the supercycle of smartphones. These smartphones with 5G capacity will become even more colossal in the US and China.
