Fortnite’s iPhone and iPad Comeback in Brazil Hit by Another Delay, Now Expected in October

Epic Games has once again pushed back the return of Fortnite on iPhone and iPad devices in Brazil, with the launch now expected to take place in October. The delay stems from continuing discussions between Apple and Brazil’s national competition authority, CADE.

Originally, the popular battle royale title was due to make its comeback in July, after CADE ruled that Apple must allow alternative app stores and external payment methods on its platform. Epic had planned to take advantage of this decision by reintroducing Fortnite through its own Epic Games Store.

When the July target slipped, Epic rescheduled the relaunch for 21 August. However, that date has also passed without success, as regulators have granted Apple additional time to comply with the measures. As a result, the new window for Fortnite’s return has been set for October.

In a statement directed at Brazilian players, Epic expressed optimism that CADE’s intervention would secure more freedom for developers and users alike. The company noted that similar rights are already being implemented in regions such as the United States, and pointed to the European Union’s Digital Markets Act as an example of progress in digital competition.

For now, gamers in Brazil will need to wait a little longer before Fortnite becomes available again on iOS devices. The situation also reflects the broader challenges Epic faces globally, as it works through a complex mix of regulatory requirements in territories including the EU, UK, United States, and Australia.
